Thank you so much for considering a donation to Alan’s GoFundMe campaign!

Last month, Alan’s busy life was interrupted when he became very ill with multiple symptoms. After several weeks of care and even more visits to baffled Doctors and Medical Professionals, we were all surprised and shocked by a cancer diagnosis.

Alan has been diagnosed with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma (AITL). Lymphoma is a cancer that develops in the white blood cells of the lymphatic system.

As anyone who knows Alan will tell you, he’s a very positive person, a storyteller, and someone who loves to laugh as much as possible. As a proud father of Madison (21), Jacob (17), and Ava (14), he’s setting a fantastic example of bravery and perseverance for his kids in the way he’s facing this with a determined, can-do attitude.

As an Army Brat, his unique life experiences have taught him powerful lessons about managing change and dealing with life’s curveballs.  He developed especially strong friendships during his time at Berlin American and Chambersburg High Schools.  Alan’s friends, family, and colleagues are already rallying behind him and he’s lucky enough to have terrific neighbors in Crofton, MD and an incredible church family from First Baptist Church of Crofton.

As most of you know, Alan is an Independent Furniture Sales Rep and manages territory-based sales on the East Coast. While his upcoming treatment will put a temporary kink in his typical itinerary, he plans on ramping up his travel plans as soon as possible. To this end, Alan has been blessed with the support of Business Associates, Manufacturers, and Customers who are all rallying behind him with support and understanding during this difficult time.

The good news is that this disease is very treatable and Alan is lucky enough to live in the backyard of Johns Hopkins, one of the nation’s premier cancer treatment facilities. The not-so-good news is that even with insurance, the medical bills Alan and his family are facing with a month-long hospital stay and six months of challenging treatment will be significant.

We’re hoping to raise money with this campaign to support Alan in this new journey and to take the pressure of challenging medical bills off the table for him and his family so he can focus on getting back to full strength and a cancer-free life.

We’re calling on Alan’s friends, family, neighbors, and associates to donate anything you can to support Alan in his time of need. All donations of any size are welcome and greatly appreciated, so please share this link far and wide.

Thanks for taking the time to read about Alan’s challenge and please keep him in your thoughts and prayers whether you’re able to give right now or not – we appreciate everyone’s support in whatever form it may take and we can’t wait to keep everyone updated on his progress as treatment begins over the next few weeks.

Please feel free to check back with this link to see monthly progress updates.

Love and best regards from Alan’s Sister and Brother,
Robin Baker and Mark Capps
