Thirty-seven-year old Alan Warfield was recently diagnosed with rectal cancer, which has already spread to his liver and lungs. He has lost 70 pounds in a short period and continues to drop an alarming amount of weight daily. He can barely swallow solid food, afflicted by severe stomach pains, and needs frequent medical exams as his physicians explore all options to treat this brutal disease. His parents, brother, and friends are very concerned about his overall condition. Over the last decade, Alan has endured many medical hardships including atrial fibrillation, muscular dystrophy, silvaric gland cancer, cataracts, and diabetes, all of which he has fought tooth and nail to overcome. He is determined to beat cancer as much as possible in this latest fight, stating verbatim, “I’m not going down without a fight” and “Cancer ain’t got nothing on me”. Alan is a kind-hearted person, who always thinks about others over himself and he is loyal to a fault.
