My name is Alaine' Mitchell. I am a 23-year-old Louisiana native who grew up in Lafayette with my twin sister and autistic younger brother. My mother, who raised us, has faced some pretty debilitating medical conditions, which inspired me to pursue a career in medicine. Despite these challenges, I graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Biological Sciences, a minor in Psychology, and academic honors Cum Laude. I also earned two medals in Research and Communication distinction and became a published author through my work in viral innate immunity research.

After LSU, I attended Tulane University School of Medicine and earned a master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology with a 4.0 GPA. Recently, I was accepted into medical school—a dream I have worked tirelessly to achieve. However, I now face significant financial barriers. My immediate need is to pay a required seating deposit by December 14th to secure my spot. Beyond that, the federal student loan cap is not enough to cover my tuition, books, medical supplies, and housing expenses.

I am reaching out for support because I truly want to continue my journey to become a physician and serve medically underserved areas. Any help at all would be appreciated.
