Help Alaina Stay Afloat
Donation protected
My name is Rachel Kosky Evans. I am writing on behalf of a group of my family who wants to help our cousin Alaina rebound from a series of events that have left her with an overwhelming amount of debt.
Here is Alaina's story: In September of 2021, after months of declining health and exploratory procedures, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 endometrial cancer. A total hysterectomy, followed by six rounds of chemotherapy were the first line of defense against the cancer. However, while undergoing chemotherapy, she contracted COVID and needed to receive monoclonal antibodies to combat it. On top of this, Alaina's mother passed away unexpectedly in December, 2021.
The good news is that Alaina's March 2022 CT scans show no signs of cancer and there is no more chemo needed. The bad news is, despite her having medical insurance from her full-time job, Alaina has incurred a hefty medical bill that needs to be repaid. Having exhausted funding that was available through some cancer-specific support groups, Alaina is left with few places to turn. This is why we felt that creating a GoFundMe page was a good idea; we hope that others who have had similar struggles might help Alaina to stay afloat.
Any amount that you can contribute to help offset the cost of Alaina's debt will be greatly appreciated. Alaina is back to her job as the Office Manager at the NOAH Pet Clinic, and is beginning to engage again in the activities that she enjoys: such as reading, playing with her young niece, and hanging out with friends and family.
Removing the burden of financial debt from Alaina can be a great start to allow herself to heal physically and emotionally from the difficult events of the past year.
Thank you for your help.
