Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We are reaching out on behalf of Alaina Smith, a beloved learning support teacher at our school who is currently facing a significant health challenge. Last February, Alaina was diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing multiple rounds of radiation, she had surgery in June to remove the tumour. Although the tumour was successfully removed from her leg, she has since experienced ongoing infections and hospitalizations. Her doctors now believe that the only way to control these infections is through another surgery.

Throughout her career, Alaina has dedicated herself to supporting and nurturing the educational journeys of countless students. Now, it’s our turn to support her during this difficult time. Following her surgery, Alaina will be unable to drive, making travel to her medical appointments increasingly costly. Additionally, her home care expenses have become burdensome.
