This Fall, a very tragic event happened in the Steiger-Jang family. Jared's sister, Alaina, and her husband Brian, live in Vancouver with their 3 year old daughter, Anya. What started as a headache on a Friday morning in September escalated to Alaina calling 911 for Brian that night. He still has not made it home.

 

Infection took over his lungs and brain, leaving Brian to fight for his life at VGH. He was ventilated for over a month and had clotting in his brain causing a stroke. It was not looking good for him at this point. He ended up having brain surgery, leaving Alaina just hoping he will pull through.

 

Which he has! After another month or so at VGH he was transferred to GF Strong for rehab. He has gone from not being able to do anything on his own, to eating purees, slowing learning how to walk again, and speaking some words. He has worked SO hard and Alaina has been there for him every day cheering him on, helping with his recovery. They are amazing people!

 

He comes home at the end of January and there are going to be so many expenses... a wheelchair ramp into the home, equipment, possible home renos, and lots of therapy. Brian still has a long road of recovery ahead of him.  He has paralyzes on the right side of his body and can only really speak yes and no.  If you're able to, please help me support Alaina and Brian with some extra money to help relieve some financial pressure during this incredibly stressful time.
