My name is Sophia Harmon and I’m organizing this gofundme for my friend Ala’a Al-Hasanat from Gaza, who reached out to me last May seeking support. Here is her story:
My name is Ala’a Al-Hasanat, a 20-year-old Palestinian girl from Gaza. I used to dream of building my future through education, but the harsh realities of war and the unbearable circumstances have forced me to pause my studies.
We are a family of 12 members, and here are our names along with our birthdates:
· Father : Naim Ahmed Al-Hasanat, born on March 20, 1963.
· Mother : Sobhea Suleiman Al-Hasanat, born on December 1, 1963.
· Sons and daughters :
• Sireen Naim Al-Hasanat, born on May 21, 1990.
• Haneen Naim Al-Hasanat, born on July 14, 1992.
• Naveen Naim Al-Hasanat, born on September 17, 1994.
• Safaa Naim Al-Hasanat, born on June 19, 1996.
• Yusra Naim Al-Hasanat, born on July 24, 1997.
• Amal Naim Al-Hasanat, born on October 6, 2000.
• Israa Naim Al-Hasanat, born on November 25, 2002.
• Ahmed Naim Al-Hasanat, born on July 24, 1993, and his wife Samia Issam Al-Hasanat, born on May 30, 1996.
• And myself, Alaa Naim Al-Hasanat, born on August 24, 2004.
Life for me and my family was once peaceful, filled with love and shared dreams. We lived in a warm home, and our lives were full of joy and hope. But everything changed on October 7. That day marked the beginning of unimaginable suffering for us. We were forced to move from one place to another, looking for safety that always seemed out of reach.
We faced the soldiers of the occupation directly several times, moments that will forever remain carved in my memory. We lost everything we owned—our home, our car—everything turned to ashes. It feels like there is nothing left except our hope, our faith, and each other.
Today, I reach out to kind-hearted individuals for help. Even the smallest donation could bring light into our dark days and give me and my family the strength to keep going. Your support means more than just financial aid—it restores our belief in the goodness that still exists in the world.
The requested funds aim to help my family escape the dire conditions we face, where survival is a daily struggle, and basic necessities like food, water, and safety are scarce. Currently, it’s not possible to leave Gaza, so we are trying to rebuild our lives here and collect donations to secure the basic necessities of life—food, drink, clothing, and shelter.
Thank you for listening to my story, and thank you for any support you may offer.
The person to whom the funds will be sent after they are deposited into my bank account is Ala’a’s sister’s husband. His PayPal link will be used, and his name is Mahmoud Abu Jamous, born on January 1, 2000.
