IMPORTANT NOTE: Since organiser is seated In Norway, the currancy of this campaigne is automatically set to Norwegian Kroner (NOK). 100 NOK=8.65 Euro and 9.34 USD. The money will be transfered to Alaa in USD.
How are the money spent?:
Due to the closed borders and lack of food and aid entering Gaza, the food prices in Gaza are insane, and food is a struggle to find. All money that is provided from this fundraise-campaigne goes directly to Alaa and she spends them on food for the family.
ABOUT THE ORGANISER:
My name is Lina Killingdalen and I am a norwegian cultural worker. I know Alaa through a youth collaboration program with text and theatre between the community center Tamer Instute in Gaza, and the youth center TVIBIT in Tromsø (2014-2017). I was one of the leaders from Norway, and Alaa was one of the young, talented writers from Gaza. Now she is a young mother in Gaza (soon mother of two), who needs your support and help to keep her family alive. Scroll down in this text and you will find updates from Alaa and a letter where she explains her situation.
LETTER FROM ALAA HABOUSH:
Since October 7, our lives, without exception, as Gazans, have been turned upside down. Families were separated, homes, buildings, schools, and even hospitals were destroyed. We were collecting wood from the rubble to light a fire in order to prepare a simple dining table. Everything became more difficult and complicated than before. The situation is getting worse, the siege, famine, diseases, epidmeics, deprivation and destruction all of it increasing. My family was separated, some of them in the south of strip, and I am in the most dangerous place in the north and I can't leave the Strip because of the siege we are subjected to and can't see them since eight months.I am now living in the north of the Strip, it's the most difficult place in the city, which is exposed to bombing and destruction all the of the time s and when it functions with the bare minimum of normal life. The northern area, which has been under siege for eight months, it is a completely destroyed place.
I am Alaa Deeb Haboush, I am 27 years old, I married, I have a child and I am eight months of pregnant. I lost my source of livelihood and comfort, my husband’s work, our home and car.
Therefore, my husband deposited the money he had in the bank, but unfortunately for us, his account was hacked and everything he owned was stolen, and now we are left with nothing. I live in the Ga*a Strip until now, and we were besieged many days by the Israeli occupation army and we miraculously escaped death. We tried many times to escape to the safe areas through the safe corridor which it claimed by the occupation , but they supposedly called it the execution or criminal corridor. The area was full of decomposing bodies, and they would shoot anyone they suspected and put his body to stray dogs. Here in the Strip, we suffer from the lack of all basic and simple necessities of life: no treatment, no medicine, no food, no shelter. There are no hospitals in the north to treat the sicks and woundeds. The martyr is buried in his place or not, and the wounded becomes a martyr hours later.
Suddenly we lost everything. We were left with nothing, no home, no work, no security, no food, no suitable water for animals, may God bless you. Epidemics and diseases spread in the city. We were now in a house that housed more than 15 people, and it bore no resemblance to a house, lacking all of the basic components on which a natural house is built. In addition, here in the Gaza Strip we lack the basic necessities of normal life. There is no food or any kind of vegetables or fruits. The markets are empty and our bodies are exhausted. I cannot feed my child natural food who is two years old, even milk is not available. My child always asks me for potatoes and chicken, but I cannot provide them for him, and if they were available, their price would be very high. We are still alive, but we are slowly dying from hunger and the harshness of life "How I wish I could feed my child healthy food, my heart breaks for him".
After the shock that my husband suffered due to the robbery, he become suffers from Regan disease, which is a liver disease caused by malnutrition. Therefore, from time to time, my son and I suffer from severe diarrhea due to malnutrition and water contamination. “Gaza has no medicine, no treatment,” this is what the doctor said when I took one of my family members to the hospital. Here we are suffering from the rapid spread of diseases and epidemics that we cannot treat. As I mentioned previously, there are no hospitals in the Gaza Strip. For my safety, the safety of my family, and my fetus, I want to leave the city and I ask for your help, please!
My husband and I owned a simple supermarket, but we were satisfied with it and it paid us an average wage. But we were always striving to develop it and seeking to develop its capital until the war came and destroyed it and our dreams. We want to rebuild our project and our home, which was destroyed by the occupation, and which we will not continue to live in for more than three years
Please help me and my family to rebulit everything we lost.
