Hi everyone my name is Naji Altayib, and I am the organizer for Alaa and Heba's campaign, I have known them for 6 years, we used to do voluntary charity work together in Gaza before I resided in Canada.
This is Alaa and Heba's story in Gaza,
"Hello World!
It had been 7 months of fear, hunger, and anxiety, and the hardest part we went through was the displacement from one place to another. The tragedy we were living in was very terrible to describe, it has been 4 months since we have seen the other half of our family our beloved mother and brothers.
Our names are Alaa and Heba AlHelou , We are two sisters, aged 23 and 20. We are from the north of Gaza, a town called Al-Rimal, which is now completely gone due to the war in Gaza
This was our town and these rubbles was our home
There was lack of food, electricity, water, etc…
The hardest thing we were suffering from was the extreme cold. One day the weather was so cold and heavy the rain went through our tent and we woke up in the middle of a rainwater. Our clothes and sleeping places became very wet because there was no roof or sun to dry our clothes.
We had many dreams that we couldn't achieve.
I'm Alaa, I got 99.1% in tawjihi (grade 12 the highest grade in school), and I started studying in the engineering department.
My dream was to become a programmer, unfortunately, the war happened and many things changed in my life.
Before 7th Oct, I was studying for my university very hard, I got very high marks in my subjects, but all that hard work has gone for nothing, and now I live a life that is not what I had hoped for myself or my family.
Due to insulficient funds our father was stuck in Gaza while my mother and brothers
managed to evacuate to Turkey,
Few days ago my sister and I managed to go out of Gaza with financial help from people , but on the condition that we have to pay them the money after we leave.
Now we are separated. I hope we can meet our whole family again. My father in Gaza , my mother and brothers in Turkey . my sister and I in Egypt, and we connot go to them.
We used to have a perfect life. We had our own business to support our education and family. We were selling clothes online. We started our own business a year ago. Thank God, the project quickly succeeded. Our online shop became very well known throughout Gaza, and we were about to open our own store to expand our projects, however, the war had happened before the winter collection could have arrived in Gaza.
Hence, we lost our source of income and we lost our savings due to the loss of our business.
Now we have no source of income. we have literally reached a point where there is no more hope for us in Gaza. We hope if we could go back to running our small business and start from there since we have the experience and knowledg to do .It's not only about losing everything that we had but also about our family that we miss so much, especiall our beloved mother and father whom we wish to hug and see again.
Our father is an old man and he has devoted his life to us, all these losses and being away from his wife, sons and now us has taken a heavy toll on him, and his health is weakening every day with no one to help now.
We were very hesitant before writing our tragedy, but after careful consideration and out of despair we decided to write our story in hopes of some hope.
With all this being said, and with a heavy heart we ask you to help us to get our father out of gaza, complete our education, see our family again, pay off the debts and restart the project we lost .
Maybe with all your help and grateful donations, this could make a great difference for us and bring back hope to our hearts
THANK YOU ALL!
