Help Al Thompson Replace His Stolen Clarinet
Donation protected
Please help our beloved friend Al Thompson who has suffered a shocking loss, likely involving a fellow musician. While he was playing his sax for a Christmas dance in Sequim, someone stole his clarinet. The thief must have planned to seek out Al's clarinet case as it was stored backstage with about a dozen others. However, Al's was the only case inside a backpack. This made it obvious that the theft was intentional. Al's quality instrument was substituted with an old, worn-out, off-brand clarinet. When Al returned home, he was stunned to see the instrument in the case was not his. Al was immediately in touch with local police and then pawn shops, music stores, musicians, and school band directors on the North Olympic Peninsula. Sadly, his efforts were unsuccessful.
Al has been in touch with his insurance company multiple times since the end of February. He hopes that the insurance he holds on household belongings will cover at least a fraction of the expense, after his deductible, of the depreciated value rather than its replacement value which is $3900. Al reluctantly agreed to allow me to create a fundraising campaign and we would like to ask for help replacing his valuable instrument that he has played for more than a decade.
Your contribution and your support is much needed for Al to continue to offer the gift of his musical skills. Many of you are well aware of his generous community service performing on numerous instruments in addition to the clarinet. These groups include Stardust Big Band, Olympic Express Big Band, The Unexpected Brass Band, Port Townsend Summer Band, Port Townsend Orchestra, Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and Salish Sea Fellowship, as well as mentoring students in our local schools.
Please help us replace Al's clarinet. Your consideration is much appreciated.
