It’s Our Turn to Help the Jelly Man
For years, Al “the Jelly Man” has been a familiar and beloved face throughout the South Shore and Cape Cod. You may have seen him at the Wellfleet Drive-In Flea Market, the Marshfield Fairgrounds, Plymouth’s waterfront festivals, or one of the many farmers markets from Quincy to the Cape, where he has shared his world-famous jams, jellies, and sauces.
Through Al’s Backwoods Berrie Company, Al has built far more than a business, he has created a lasting connection with generations of local residents and visitors, sharing countless smiles and making friends wherever he goes.
Whether he’s welcoming customers to his colorful setup in front of the famous jam van, showing up in one of his unforgettable costumes, or sharing a laugh, Al has a special way of making everyone feel like an old friend. For many families, seeing Al is part of what makes a trip down route 3 to the Cape feel complete.
Al’s generosity is every bit as memorable as his jelly. Over the years, he has donated hundreds of cases of jams and jellies to local fire departments, EMS personnel as well as to the Magical Moon Foundation and the ALS community, and to just about anyone who has asked for his help. Al has always been quick to support others without expecting anything in return. Quietly giving back has simply always been part of who he is.
Now it’s our turn to support him.
After years of giving so much of his heart to others, Al’s heart now needs some care of its own. The treatments, appointments, medications, and other necessary expenses have created a growing financial burden for him. We are raising money to ease that burden so Al can focus his energy on his own heart health and recovery.
If Al has ever made you smile, helped you discover a favorite jam or sauce, supported your organization, or became part of your family’s summer memories, please consider giving back to him now. Every donation, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference.
If you’re unable to donate, please share this fundraiser with friends, family, fellow market vendors, first responders, South Shore and Cape Cod residents, and visitors.
Al the Jelly Man has spent years showing up for his community. Let’s come together and show this truly amazing salt of the earth original just how much he means to all of us.
Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, prayers, and support.
