Help Al Okka family survive the war

Donation protected
Hello and blessings. My name is Amy Nelson, and I am fundraising for the beautiful Al Okka family in the G strip. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about the distribution of the funds.

A message to you from the Al Okka family, please read the whole way through:

Hi, my name is Roshdy, and I'm fundraising to help my family survive and evacuate the G strip as soon as possible.

We are a family in G@za with ten members (father, mother and other siblings.) The occup@tion has displaced us more than 5 times. The G Strip is considered a disaster zone and has been under siege for more than 18 years. There are no opportunities for work or life and no freedom of travel and movement. Despite all this tragedy that we already suffered from, the war began, and more than 45 thousand people were killed, including 9 thousand children and 15 thousand women.

Me (Rushdi) and my brother Mustafa

My family's story since the beginning of the war;

We are a family of 10 members. My father does not work due to the lack of job opportunities. Last year, I graduated from the university with a degree in English Language and Teaching Methods Department. I looked for a job as a teacher, but I did not find an opportunity, so I worked in construction temporarily to help my family with food, drink, and treatment expenses. Last October, the war broke out and forced us to flee our homes more than 5 times and to three different cities, and each time, we left for fear of death and bombing.

My graduation before the war.

The rubble of our destroyed home

The first time we were displaced was on the fifteenth of November, when planes began randomly bombing homes, and artillery also began dropping shells, destroying homes, and killing innocent people randomly. We were using the school as a safe place for displacement, and more than 3,000 families inhabited it. They mercilessly bombed it and killed a large number of us, forcing us to leave from the North to the South. We saw houses demolished over the heads of their residents and children massacred.

After the announced ce@se fire, we returned to our home in the North to find the occup@tion had destroyed our house. We set up a tent beside the rubble, which is where we live now; this is not fit for living; how can we go on like this?

What was once our home.

Mustafa by the 'tent' where we are displaced currently.

For 15 months, we have endured hell, sleeping on the streets without shelter, cover, food, clean water or bathrooms. When the rain comes, we fear we may drown in our tent. We have thought about leaving the G Strip for Eg ypt until the war ended, for fear of death and hunger, but we do not have this amount of money.

Our first goal is to secure housing and the basic requirements to survive.

Your donations will go towards:

$2500 = Materials to build ourselves a home
$7,500 = Food, water, clothing and essential items for the next few months.
Please understand that we wish to be in our homes, away from danger and not asking you for money. Thank you to everyone who has opened their hearts to share our story and donate.

Any amount makes a big difference for us. Please don't tell yourself that $5 won't do anything; it does. We are stronger together.
