Al Neff, radio-guru, SCSU Alumnus, former Professor of Mass Communications at SCSU and General Education at Colorado Technical University, and a friend of the Central Minnesota music scene, needs some monetary mojo from the masses to offset his recent medical adventure aftermath.

You might have heard his radio shows on KVSC, WJON, WWJO, WHMH, WVAL and WXYG The Goat, or on the several affiliate stations for his syndicated program "Into The Music".

Al is the creator, writer, voice and producer of this series.

But now, our beloved central Minnesota radio personality and music historian/promoter needs your help!

In the Spring of 2025, Al had a series of minor heart attacks, the result of a major blockage in the largest artery of his heart.

Al’s life was saved by the cardiac team at the St. Cloud hospital, and he’s now doing fine physically.

Financially, Al is in a payment situation which will consume almost a quarter of his take-home income until he’s almost 70, yet he’s in a middle income zone which doesn’t qualify for any state or federal aid.

Grateful Al’s Not Dead will feature a live "Into the Music" with Al on-stage accompanying the band China Rider, playing the music of The Grateful Dead, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 7pm at the Paramount Center for the Arts.

There will also be a music oriented silent auction from 5:30 until 7, and an All-Star St. Cloud Bands Jam following the China Rider set.
