My name is Ana Maria, from London, and I am running this fundraiser on behalf of Akram Khalifa and his family in Gaza. Due to GoFundMe regulations on where accounts can be based, the money from this fundraiser will go into my account and I will transfer the money to Akram as requested. As Akram is under 18, I am adding his brother Mohammad as the main recipient of your donations.
This is his story:
I am Akram Khalifa. I am 16 years old. A Palestinian singer. One of my dreams is for my voice to reach the world. I live in the Gaza Strip
I am displaced in a camp for displaced people in Deir al-Balah .. My family and I have 9 members in my family. We suffer from sunburn, lack of water and many insects in the tent we live in. We have been afflicted with skin diseases and viruses have infected several members of my family.
Before the war, I was studying in the tenth grade and I stopped studying because of the war. My family's house was destroyed without warning and a large number of children and people from my cousins and uncles were martyred in it. The number of martyrs exceeded 35 martyrs, most of them children and women.
We are now without a home. There are injuries among my sisters. My brother Omar escaped death when a gathering of civilians was targeted and his injury was moderate in the lower jaw and he does not even suffer from it.
I also escaped death when my family was targeted by shells and it was I was injured in my hand and foot and there were injuries and martyrs among my relatives. I want to get some money to help my family because there is no work and my brothers are injured and my father is a man who cannot work and my mother is a sick woman.
My little sister is sick and needs an operation outside Palestine because it is a complicated and difficult operation on the tendons of the hand, so we need some money to buy the necessary treatment until the crossings are opened and we can travel. Yes, my friend, there is no family in Gaza that is not afflicted, has a martyr, a wounded person, or a prisoner, and does not have a safe place to live. We ask you to help us and contribute by donating or sharing the link.
