Help Akini to Heal

Everybody's favourite good guy, Akini (Pogz) Joseph needs a little help!

On the morning of Wednesday January 17th, Akini suffered a stroke while picking up supplies for his work in construction. Thankfully, this life threatening incident was caught quickly, and he was whisked off to Humber River Hospital, then Toronto Western to be assessed by their world class stroke response team.

Following a brief stint in hospital, he's now on the mend and being discharged from Humber River hospital today to continue his recovery journey at home.

Akini is a devoted husband to Meg, and father of three incredible kids, and their world has been turned upside down as he embarks on the road to recovery. With the cost of living being at an all time high, Akini's family is already under a great deal of financial strain due to the sudden circumstances of him being off work and facing the unforeseen costs associated with this medical emergency.

His loving wife, kids and family cannot wait to have him home, but Akini will have to be off work for some time to heal and complete the necessary follow up testing and therapies before being cleared to return to work.

As his community, this is a moment for us to step up and support Akini's much needed time off work to recover and heal so that he and his family can just focus on his healing and recovery and not be hit with the additional financial burden of this medical emergency.
