Hi!! Akilah needs our help!!

Today, August 19th, her car caught fire in Mesquite, Nevada. She is with her mom in the middle of the desert in 110 degree weather. She was on her way back to college in California so her car was filled everything she owns from things with sentimental value to all of her basketball gear to clothes & personal care items. She lost everything besides the clothes on her back. Not only is she left without a car but she has nothing to even take care of herself. The cost of living in California is high especially as a student athlete. Please show her she has community filled with people who love and support her as she starts over with not a single belonging to her name.

For those of you who don’t know Akilah:

Akilah is from Kalispell, Montana. She is in her sophomore year attending Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California. There she studies kinesiology and plays on the women’s basketball team as a forward position. Akilah is one of the most radiant people you could ever meet. She has a glowing smile and presence that makes you feel warm. She takes care of the people she loves and will never fail to make you laugh.
