My name is Chaithanya, and I am raising funds for my beloved wife Akhila, the mother of our 2 1/2-year-old daughter. Like many families, we came to the United States to chase our American dream. We never expected that our lives would change overnight.
My wife was diagnosed with TB meningitis, and by the time it was identified, it was too late to prevent severe complications. She suffered two brain strokes, and this rare, aggressive illness has damaged her nervous system, leaving her paralyzed on the left side of her body.
After months of hospitalization, she is now medically stable. But stability is just the first step — she still has a long road ahead to recover from the devastating effects of the infection. Her recovery will require urgent long-term care, intensive physical therapy, and ongoing medical support.
Given that Akhila is fully dependent—needing help with toileting, mobility, etc. and her cognitive and physical impairments are often at their worst, the care provided in the first year is going to have major impact in her overall path to recovery.
Unfortunately, long-term medical care is not covered by insurance. Just the skilled nursing facility fees alone cost around $7,000 per month, and this does not include the additional expenses for therapy, medications, and follow-up care. These costs place a tremendous financial burden on our family.
We have no relatives in the U.S. to help us during this difficult time, which makes the situation even more challenging as we balance caregiving, medical decisions, and caring for our little daughter.
Your support will help Akhila access the care she needs to heal, regain strength, and work toward recovery. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in giving her the best chance at reclaiming her life.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and generosity.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
Skilled nursing facility fees
Physical and occupational therapy
Medical equipment and mobility aids
Transportation for Lab appointments and Doctor consultations
With gratitude,
