Help Akela Dance with the Lightning Elite Team

Hi my name is Akela C. and I'm raising money to be able to go and perform at Disney World with the Lightning Elite Disney World Performance Team.

My love of Dance came from seeing just one performance at the local Mall. It was kids activity registration that weekend. Our family went for a walk in the mall. In the food court the Ballerinas from the Ireland Academy of Dance were performing. I was so excited to watch them dance; I don't think I blinked once. Their costumes were so beautiful and the girls moved gracefully. I told my mom I want to be just like those girls. I have tried different genres of dance but I always come back to Ballet. Being the 3rd of 5 children to my mom and dad ballet is unheard of. I grew up listening to socca, r&b, reggae, dancehall, etc.

When I'm on stage performing I feel like I'm in my own world. I get lost in dance and the music and I become one.

The opportunity to go to Disney to perform with the Lightning Elite Disney World Performance Team would be a dream come true. This will also give me the necessary skills to be a better dancer. Registration closes August 1st. Any donation no matter how small or big will help me achieve my financial goal. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
