Help Akeena Brooks-Scott with medical costs for Lupus & kidney care

Hi everyone,

I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Akeena, who has been bravely living with lupus since 2021. Recently, her doctors discovered signs that she may now be facing early-stage kidney disease, which is a serious and frightening complication of lupus.

Over the past months, she has had multiple doctor visits, tests, and growing medical bills. Her doctors are now recommending that she will need a kidney biopsy to better understand what’s happening and determine the next steps for her treatment. Unfortunately, these procedures and ongoing care come with costs that are becoming overwhelming.

Akeena is doing everything she can to stay strong and hopeful, but the financial stress is adding an extra burden during an already difficult time. We are asking for help to cover:

• Medical bills and doctor visits

• Lab work and testing

• The upcoming kidney biopsy
