Help My Family Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica
Hello everyone,
Our names are Akeem & Ronneil, and we are reaching out with heavy hearts after our family in Jamaica was severely affected by Hurricane Melissa. This storm has left behind unimaginable devastation, and our loved ones are struggling to recover from the damage.
Our dad (as shown in the photo) lost his entire roof, leaving his home completely exposed to the elements. Days of heavy rain have soaked everything inside, from furniture and clothes to cherished family memories. He’s currently trying to stay safe while covering the house with tarps and salvaging what little he can.
Even more heartbreaking, our aunt lost her entire home. The strong winds and flooding completely destroyed the structure, leaving her with nothing but the clothes she had on that day. She’s now staying with relatives, but the loss has been devastating emotionally and financially.
Hurricane Melissa didn’t just take away walls and roofs it took away comfort, security, and a sense of normalcy. Our family is doing their best to stay strong, but the rebuilding process is overwhelming, especially with limited resources and ongoing rain.
We are creating this GoFundMe to raise funds that will go directly toward:
• Rebuilding and repairing their homes (roof materials, lumber, cement, etc.)
• Replacing essential household items such as beds, clothing, and appliances
• Providing emergency supplies and food while they get back on their feet
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing this campaign so we can reach more people who might be able to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this difficult time. We as well as our family will be forever grateful for any help we receive as we work to rebuild our lives after Hurricane Melissa.
With gratitude,
Akeem & Ronneil
