Hi, My name is Aubrey. My little 11-year-old sister, Akaydia, was recently diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. It is a rare blood disorder where your body stops producing enough red blood cells. As a result, any illness or injury puts her life in immediate danger. My siblings and I were all tested to see if our bone marrow matched hers, but unfortunately, none of us were a match for a transplant.

Currently, she is receiving immunosuppressant treatments. It is a process with a lot of side effects and medication. She must be up at Primary Children's Hospital every Tuesday for the next 3 months. Unfortunately, to keep her safe and healthy, she will also have to spend a lot of time at home and not attend school with her friends.
