Hey family, friends, and loved ones! I am starting this GoFundMe for my son, AJ. He has an incredible opportunity to attend a private school uniquely suited to his needs.

As many of you know, AJ was born with a brain abnormality called Schizencephaly. In the more recent years, he has also gained a few more badges to add to his health record, including ADHD (inattentive type) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). For the last four years, AJ has been attending a public charter school, where he has had the opportunity to participate in book clubs, robotics, coding classes, and even made morning announcements. Despite these achievements, he's faced social, emotional, and academic challenges in a public school setting.

Some of the challenges he has faced include emotional breakdowns, self-isolation due to noise, and delayed accommodations for his visual and academic needs.

As AJ transitions to middle school, our family recognized the need to find a school that meets all his needs—academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. Coincidentally, the two teachers who have directly guided AJ through elementary school decided to embark on a journey and open their very own school! Offering small class ratios, virtual attendance, daily life skills lessons, and our personal favorite, self-paced and student-specific curriculum teaching. Providing all of their students with opportunities to not only succeed in the classroom but also life.

Being a new school comes with its challenges, and unfortunately, financial aid isn’t an option this school year. The administration has graciously offered us 50% off tuition for the year, for which we are beyond grateful. However, as a family of six, we aren't in a position to comfortably manage this additional expense. We know this school is the perfect environment for AJ and are committed to making it happen.
