aAs many of you know, my daughter and son-in-law just suffered a terrifying medical emergency. AJ went in for what was considered a routine sinus surgery, which turned out to be anything but routine. Approximately halfway through the surgery, he coded, and they administered three rounds of epi and started chest compressions. Thankfully, he survived and was placed in the intensive care unit on a vent, keeping him "stable." Lacey could not get many answers and couldn't see him for hours. The call I got from my scared, heartbroken girl is something I will never forget, and then the feeling of heartbreak and despair I felt when she was finally able to get out the words, "He's on a vent in the ICU, and they are hoping since he's young and strong, he'll make it." I dropped to my knees, not knowing how to help. His parents immediately went to be with them, and I stayed home to take care of their four beautiful babies, who I couldn't tell what was happening. I tried my best to care for them for the week Mommy and Daddy weren't there. Thankfully, after a long, hard battle, their Daddy was able to walk through the door to them. They were confused that Daddy was too weak to run and pick them up and swing them in circles, but regardless, they knew how much they were loved, and their Daddy is the luckiest man alive being so loved. He is their superhero! The unknown is how long he will be out of work unpaid and how much permanent damage has been done to his heart. I am asking if you are able to give to offset some of the costs of medical bills, costs to make the trips to the doctors in Indy, and to help with the household bills and the everyday expenses that come with raising four babies. Thank you for all of your words of encouragement and help.
