This is Aissa. My grandmother took Aissa and her sister Mariama in when she was just 6 years old, and Mariama 8, after both her parents died in a tragic accident. She then went on to live with my aunt when my grandmother died 15 years ago, so from a young age she's been very much a part of my extended family.
But life hasn't been easy for her. At the start of 2022, Mariama passed away and Aissa, now 29, was then diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Given the poor state of the health system in Guinea, her prospects in the absence of any intervention are extremely bleak. So I've decided to do everything I can to help Aissa beat this terrible disease, and I'm raising money so that others can contribute too. I have found a reputable breast cancer treatment centre here in Dakar, Senegal, where she is due to start her gruelling treatment plan next week.
I'm praying that this will save her life, so any donations would mean the world to her and to me. If you decide to help, your donation will be used to cover:
- Medical tests
- Chemotherapy treatment
- Surgery (potentially a mastectomy and reconstruction)
- Oncology supportive care
Do you want to join me in making a real difference to someone's life?
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
NB - Grateful
