What happened
In June, 2022, a sudden, severe fever changed everything. Soon after, Aisha was diagnosed with AVN of both hips. Pain and loss of mobility escalated, and a soft-tissue infection around the hips made movement agonising. She has been mostly bedridden, dependent on family for daily care.
Why this matters
This illness has taken a heavy toll on her daughter, husband, and extended family. During this difficult period, her mother, who had been her primary caregiver, passed away suddenly, adding grief and practical hardship to an already overwhelming situation. Surgery is her best chance to sit, stand, and walk again, return to parenting, and regain independence.
The medical plan
- Pre-operative clearance: labs, imaging, anaesthesia review
- Bilateral hip replacement: earliest available date once funds are secured.
- Hospital stay (cumulative): approximately 6 weeks.
- Rehabilitation: 12–16 weeks of structured physiotherapy and mobility support.
