Hi, my name is Jaibrianna. I am a single mom of 3 amazing kids. On January 17, 2024 our world changed drastically.

Heres our story:

It was a normal Wednesday and I received a call from Airalee’s school saying that she was falling asleep in class, and that she didn’t seem like herself. I immediately left work because that was not normal of her. She’s bright, bubbly full of energy. As I arrived the school nurse stated that she has a low grade fever and that she might need some antibiotics because she seemed to have a cough. I wasn’t too concerned, I was near Nationwide Children’s Lewis Center and I thought maybe she had strep/covid/ ear infection. My other children had been sick so I figured it was just another bug going around. As soon as we arrived the lovely doctor there began to ask questions that were different from the normal cold questions were, asking if she had been vomiting, was she anemic, her heart rate was increased, blood pressure was high. Immediately I started to get concerned after they were stating things that weren’t typical for us. Then they did blood draws and stated she would need a blood transfusion, her white blood cell count is extremely high, her hemoglobin was at a 3, and her platelets were very low. They didn’t know if she had sickle cell, or something else because her onset of her symptoms were progressing quickly. We needed to be transferred to nationwide children’s downtown. Immediately I questioned why there because it’s a 5 1/2 hour waiting room and if it’s something serious I didn’t want to go there. They said no she’ll be immediately be put into a room. As we arrived she was immediately put on an ICU floor, my other children were not allowed to see her after this point.

We were immediately introduced to the hematology/oncology team who explained to us that she has a rare leukemia called Acute Myleoid Leukemia, it attacks the good cells in your bone marrow. We were given two options of starting chemotherapy but they would not start without blood transfusions.

We started chemotherapy once her blood was at a stable place.

Fast forward we go through a week of induction chemotherapy. Her side effects weren’t bad, she still had her hair, we were truly amazed at how well she was responding to treatment. However, as her momma I was not pleased with the cleanliness of staff and the conflicting information between doctors and teams. What turned out to be a nightmare continued to be a nightmare.

After being released Feb 16,
we were admitted again on Feb 23rd after we had been released because Airalee still had stomach pain. A new doctor had been added to her team who decided to not wait on an Echocardiogram for her heart, and that’s where we found that the chemotherapy she was given has cause her moderate to severe heart failure, which is a rare side effect of chemo.

We have decided to move care to Cincinnati Children’s hospital, and I’m asking for any and all help, that include prayers as we continue to get the best care for my sweet girl and she can resume back to her normal life. $1 counts! We ask for all prayers or even just a share for those who would love to support us.

I am asking for funds for transporting from Columbus to Cincinnati, hotel stays, medical bills (I have private insurance so I am paying for medicine out of my pocket) Cooling caps (so she can keep her lovely hair during treatment) which are $350-$450 per month.

God bless everyone who can pray for us ❤️
