Hi, my name is Michelle and I have been Aimee's best friend for over 15 years. If you know Aimee, you know she has a heart of gold. She is the first person to help someone out, even if she doesn't know them well. You would also know that her students are most important. She goes to infinity and beyond to make sure every child in her classroom succeeds. Last, if you know Aimee, you know how much she loves dogs. Especially her boy, Ace. Ace wasn't just her dog, but her animal companion... her peanut butter to her jelly. A person with such a big heart should never experience the lost she did on the morning of Friday, December 10th.
An hour after leaving for work, Aimee received an emergency phone call. She was told her house was on fire and the fire department was on scene. When she arrived, she saw that she had nothing left. That's when she was informed that Ace, her dog, didn't make it either. He had passed away from smoke inhalation. As you can imagine, her whole world fell apart. The materialistic things can be replaced over time, but losing Ace is really taking a toll on her.
I am thankful for Nick who was there for her immediately, and my mom who has taken her in until she can find a place, but I am asking for a bit more help. While nothing can replace Ace, we can help replace her home. I am looking to fundraise enough for Aimee's deposit and first months rent in a new place as well as some money for a couch, dishes, towels and a TV. It is difficult to ask for help after the holiday season, but I believe that there are many lives Aimee has touched and those people have been looking for a way to give back. For everyone else, it is never too late to give. Especially to someone who always gives 110% of herself to her family, friends and students.
