Help Ailyn & Family Pay for Critical Care

Donation protected
Update as of Oct 3, 2021:

"On behalf of my brother Victoriano Lucas, his daughters, Colleen and Vinalyn, as well as myself and my family:  thank you so much for your generous donations towards Ailyn's treatment. At the time of her passing, she was waiting for an available room or bed in a bigger facility, though all hospitals are at full capacity. She was in a primary hospital (basic services) with very limited equipment. Unfortunately, she passed away without being able to receive the full treatment.

My brother Victoriano is still being treated in-hospital for pneumonia, brought on by the COVID-19 virus, at the same facility where Ailyn received care. As some of you may know, they don’t have Medicare in the Philippines and hospital services are very costly. We are extremely grateful for all your donations, support and prayers. Please continue to offer your support as all the funds raised will be going towards the family's medical bills. Thank you. Maraming Salamat and God bless you all."

~~~~~
Ailyn has been hospitalized for being critically ill with COVID-19 in Roxas, Philippines. She is in IMMEDIATE need of multiple hemoperfusions in order to save her life. Each treatment costs roughly 50,000 PHP (1,274.00 CAD) and is not covered by insurance. She needs 4 treatments or more on top of hospitalization fees.
Hemoperfusion is a blood purification process that involves direct filtration of the blood by removing specific toxins and enzymes that have accumulated due to high levels of cytokines, otherwise known as "cytokine storm". If left untreated, cytokine storm will lead to systemic inflammatory response syndrome, acute kidney failure, multiple organ dysfunction, and death. Hemoperfusion will help control these responses and ultimately improve the life of critically ill COVID-19 patients.
Prior to being hospitalized, Ailyn was an active member of her community; making house calls to her grade one students who were unable to attend classes because of covid. She is a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to two beautiful baby girls. Her students and family miss her and are in desperate need of your support which is why this fundraiser was created. It is critical for her to receive treatments as soon as possible. If you are unable to donate for any reason, please share this gofundme! Any amount is greatly appreciated. Ano mang halaga ay lubos naming ipinagpapasalamat. Naway pagpalain kayo ng ating Panginoon.
