Help Me Remove Dangerous Biopolymers and Save My Life
Hi, my name is Aileen Lopez and I’m sharing something deeply personal in hopes of getting the help I need—and raising awareness for others.
In 2017, I underwent what I believed was a safe cosmetic procedure involving hyaluronic acid. I was told it was harmless and commonly used—but I was lied to. What was actually injected into my body were biopolymers, an illegal and dangerous black-market substance not meant for human use.
Since then, I have been living with constant health issues. I’ve been hospitalized over 30 times due to serious infections caused by this toxic material. My immune system has been under attack ever since the procedure, and now it has reached a life-threatening point.
My doctor has urged me to get these biopolymers surgically removed before the end of this year, warning that another infection could be fatal. But because this procedure is not covered by insurance, I’m left with the overwhelming burden of covering it myself.
This is not just a surgery—it’s a fight for my life.
Living with this inside of me feels like a life sentence. I never know when the next infection will come, or whether I’ll survive it.
I went through what I thought was a harmless cosmetic procedure to treat cellulite—not truly out of vanity, but because I wanted to feel better in my own skin. I trusted the wrong people, and that decision has cost me dearly. It’s taken years of my health, my peace of mind, and now, it’s threatening my life.
I’m also a single mother to an incredible son who is a cancer survivor, and I’ve dedicated my life to ensuring his health and well-being. As an only child, seeing my mother suffer because of what I’m going through is heartbreaking—it's the last thing I want for her. I need to be here for both of them. They need me healthy and alive, and this surgery is the only way to make that possible.
Through this painful journey, my deepest hope is to raise awareness—so that no one else ends up making the same mistake I did. We live in a world that constantly tells us we’re not enough, but the truth is, we are already enough. We are perfectly made, just as God created us. If sharing my story can stop even one person from going down this same path, then maybe this suffering won’t be in vain. Maybe this pain can turn into purpose.
Please consider donating, sharing my story, or offering a kind word of support. Every single gesture means more than I can express.
With love and gratitude,
Aileen
