Recently, Myanmar suffered from earthquakes of 7.7 and 6.5 magnitude, with an epicenter in the center of the country northwest of Sagaing, in Myanmar, on March 28, 2025.
Some areas such as Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Northeastern Shan, and Sagaing are affected by this devastating earthquake. These destructive earthquakes have caused more than 1,600 deaths, and houses, healthcare buildings, religious buildings, and schools are damaged (United Nations, 2025). These situations have left people in urgent need of food and medical assistance.
I am organizing this fundraising campaign to support those affected, connecting with local organizations and individuals who are working on the ground level to provide assistance such as food, clean water, medicine, and shelter.
Your kind donation of any amount is helpful to assist families affected by this earthquake to access basic needs.
Thank you so much for your kind support and please remember the people of Myanmar in your thoughts.
Fundraiser information:
My name is Aik Paung Seinn, a Burmese national and a current PhD student studying at Michigan State University and a former Fulbright scholar at Northern Illinois University. I am personally organizing this fundraiser, and all contributions will be collected directly by me. My goal is to raise 2000 USD to help families affected by earthquakes at the ground level. Upon the conclusion of the fundraiser, I will connect with local organizations and individuals who are providing assistance to the affected communities to transfer all the collected funds, which will be exchanged in Burmese currency. The funds will be used to provide assistance in terms of food, shelter and medicine to affected families. I am fully committed to transparency and will provide updates about the progress of our fundraising efforts. Thank you so much again for your support.
