Hello friends and family!

We have a once in a lifetime opportunity and are currently raising money for the upcoming 2025 Drum Corps International season! We are 16 years old (twins), from Georgia (attending Harlem High School), and both play marching snare drum. As sophomores in high school, we have completed 2 seasons of outdoor marching experience in addition to 3 years of experience playing snare throughout our middle school years (total of 5 years on snare) and it is our absolute passion. Our parents can tell you………..we wake up playing our snare (or practice pad) and spend hours (even into the late night hours) practicing different excerpts from a variety of DCI groups to build upon our skillset. Our dream is to be a part of a DCI group to really hone our skills and build upon the skills and techniques that we have learned throughout our middle and high school years.

If you aren't familiar with DCI, here's a quick summarization of this amazing program and the opportunity we have ahead of us.

The mission of Drum Corps International is to bring the life-enriching benefits and enjoyment of marching music performing arts to more people worldwide. They do this by creating a stage for participating organizations to engage in education, competition, entertainment, and the promotion of individual growth. There are different classes in DCI which include world-class, open-class, and all-age class. We are currently auditioning for a snare position in a world-class drum corps. We would love the opportunity to showcase our talents with DCI this season or next season. Our goal while participating in DCI is to develop and refine our artistic, athletic, performance, and personal skills through the positive, high-quality, and challenging arts education programs that emphasize character building, a strong work ethic, teamwork, and the pursuit of performance excellence.

If you don't know already, it is very expensive to run a drum corps, which means it is very expensive for the members participating. The average cost of marching ONE season in drum corps is around $6,000 per person. This covers the costs associated with meals, lodging, transportation, equipment, costumes, and intense instruction from world class DCI percussionists. To do this we need to raise funds to help cover the costs of DCI tuition (we are trying to earn 50% of our combined tuition to offset the total costs associated with joining DCI).

To be a part of this amazing DCI group we will spend the Summer away from family, for 75 days. While away we will spend our days rehearsing and touring for competitions across the nation.

A donation of $25.00 covers the cost of meals for a day for one student, $175.00 helps to cover the cost of a pre-season camp weekend in January and April, and $150.00 helps to cover the cost of DCI uniforms for the season. No matter the donation amount, every dollar helps our dream of being a part of Drum Corps International come to fruition.
