Dear Mentors and Supporters,
We are Robert Aiden and Samuel Austin Almendarez, 9th grade students, and identical twins at
Eastlake High School. We recently completed our first semester of high school, both
achieving a GPA above 4.0, and were recently awarded the President's Award for
Educational Excellence!
We are currently in the Medicine career-pathway at Eastlake High School and are now
part of a very select few that have been nominated to represent our school and
community at the National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine at University of California,
Los Angeles. This coveted program allows us to join other motivated future medical
students from around the country to experience college life as well as learn and gain
hands on practice at the same simulation training centers that medical students, residents,
and physicians use to hone their skills. Upon successful completion of the program, we will
also receive two college credits through George Mason University.
As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling us to interact with respected
professionals in various fields while building relationships with students who will be our
future colleagues. Attending this program will allow us to further our interest in medicine
and help us navigate through this exciting journey.
Our participation in the program depends on whether we can raise $8,000 in sponsorships
for our combined tuition. The tuition covers our housing, two to three meals per day,
instruction, supervisory personnel, program materials, all program activities and site
visits, and local transportation during the two-week full immersion program. Our tuition
must be paid no later than 1 March 2022.
Your support for our sponsorship in any amount would be invaluable to us. Thank you for
your kind consideration.
Very Respectfully,
Robert Aiden and Samuel Austin Almendarez
