Hello everyone,
I never imagined I'd be in this position, but I'm reaching out with a heavy heart. I’m a 44-year-old single mom living with my 5-year-old son. We’ve been living with my brother and 7-year-old niece for the past five years, and I rent a room in the home he rents.
My son just started kindergarten at his favorite cousin’s school, and seeing how happy he is there means everything to me. Usually, we manage okay by renting out the third room in our place to help cover expenses. Unfortunately, our current roommate hasn’t been able to pay rent and is now moving out. Without that help, we’ve fallen behind and are now facing the threat of eviction.
I live with an anxiety disorder and am currently on disability, which makes finding consistent work very challenging. We’ve been actively job hunting for better opportunities, but haven’t had much luck so far. On top of everything, I was recently diagnosed with shingles, which has added to an already difficult year.
Right now, we owe $1,401.29, which includes rent, late fees, and court fees. It’s overwhelming, and honestly very hard for me to ask for help—but I’m doing this for my son and niece. If you find it in your heart to help us keep a roof over our heads and some stability for them, we would be so grateful. Any amount, big or small, truly helps and means the world to us.
