We are incredibly proud to announce that our son, Thug Buggerson (aka Aidan Sundell), has been selected to represent Team USA in the JRDA World Cup in Australia during the summer of 2025!
Aidan is one of the top 20 roller derby skaters in the country. His 10+ years of dedication and hard work with the Columbia Junior Rollers has truly paid off. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him to showcase his amazing skills on an international stage, but the cost of travel, accommodations, and equipment is significant. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help make this dream a reality for Aidan. Thank you for your support and for believing in our young athlete’s journey!
Costs and requirements:
Practices:
Team members are required to attend at least two of four practices held in the United States, plus a required practice in Brisbane the day before the competition.
Practice 1 - Southern California - weekend of Feb 15-17 or Mar 15-16 (details TBD soon)
Practice 2 - Nashville, Tennessee - Sunday April 6th
Practice 3 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Monday May 26th
Practice 4 - Denver, Colorado - Monday July 14th
Players must attend at least two of the above four practices in the US
Practice 5 - Brisbane, Australia - Friday July 25th

Expenses:
No financial assistance is provided by JRDA. All expenses are the responsibility of the athlete. This includes travel to US practices and to Australia, hotel stays, uniforms, passports, travel visas, insurance, meals, etc. Team members are not permitted to travel to the World Cup unaccompanied by a legally responsible adult regardless of age, which is an added financial responsibility.
We estimate that the cost to participate on the US Team is at least $8325 per athlete and potentially more, depending on individual travel logistics, exchange rates, time off of work, etc.
