Help Ahmed's Family Overcome Gaza's Hardships
Donation protected
Hi my name is Judy I live in America and I set up this gofundme to help my friend Ahmed to survive a very hard life in Gaza. I have never in my life met a kinder person. Ahmed helps his parents care for his siblings.
He goes out in search of food. Before the colleges were turned to rubble Ahmed was in college for engineering. He had dreams and goals just like everyone. For me the most devastating part of this entire “war” is that innocents lose their will to dream. Dream of better days. Now Ahmed only wants to survive. He wants to make sure his brothers and sister can live. That they can have a future.
This breaks my heart. It also makes me want to see him and his family be together safe and secure. Mohammed and Imad and Haya all deserve a chance to live.
To go to school. To play outside and not be taken too soon like many other children in Gaza. We can give them a chance. If you can donate then please do so.
The money would help buy food for a family of 6. It can even possibly help them to leave Gaza when the borders reopen.
Right now the borders are closed. The fees to cross the border are as follows 2.5k per child up to 16 years old and 5k per adult. This is at the Egypt border we know that the border is closed to Palestinians at the moment however one day it will be opened again.
Then I pray these children can be free. Currently there is no aid allowed in. Food is scarce and a bag of flour on average costs around $300-$700 depending on how scarce the food is. If we can’t do much else at least help them get one meal.
Each piece of bread is 12 shekels which is $3.36 each at 6 people it is $20 a day to feed a family of 6. That’s just one piece of bread. But it would help.
My point is no amount is too little. It’s the intent that matters. Now a word from Ahmed himself.
I am Ahmed from Palestine. My life was normal. Our dreams, like any other person, were to live happily with the hope of a beautiful future. I lived through many wars in my city. I have been living in Gaza for a long time, an unstable life. I even lost one of my brothers in the 2014 war. We are twins.
My family consists of my father, mother, 4 brothers and a daughter. My sisters name is Haya, my father is Imad, my mother is Najwa, and my older brother is Saqr he is in Greece, Mohammed is my little brother and so is Imad I am very close to my younger brothers and pray for their safety every day.
My greatest dream is to see them grow up far away from this never ending war. To go to school and be free. For them to grow up. I am currently responsible for taking care of my family. But I cannot even work there is no jobs there is no food. All we can do is pray for the war to end and for freedom at last. You don’t understand how much this means to me. I want to work. I feel it is hard to describe having to ask for help like this, but I know that you have a kind heart and I am grateful.
