Ahmed needs our help. 6500 dollars worth of our help.
He returned to Yemen at the start of summer. Unfortunately, this was the only option available to him.
A ceasefire in the ongoing war in Yemen came into effect on June 2nd. But it will end on August 2. And then the war will resume.
The only civilian flights out of Yemen are from Aden airport, but that’s a 12-hour drive from Sana’a — the capital of Yemen and where Ahmed and his family live.
His parents plan to rent a car, drive to Aden and fly to Cairo with Ahmed. They will then stay in an apartment in Cairo and Ahmed will return to Bosnia-Herzegovina near the end of August.
We need to raise the money in less than 2 weeks. Otherwise Ahmed may not get out of Yemen.
Ahmed, Helen Lloyd and Phillip Lloyd
The money is needed for Ahmed and his parents to rent a car to go to Aden, for flights to Cairo (and back for his parents), rent for the apartment and living costs in Cairo and Ahmed's flight to Mostar as well as for covering processing and transfer fees. If money is left over, it will be used to cover Ahmed's pocket money costs while he is at UWC Mostar. The money will be withdrawn to Phillip Lloyd's account and transfered to Ahmed's family via a bank transfer.
