Help Ahmed Essa and his family to build a new life

Who are We?

My name is Sheila von Kaweczynski, I'm from Berlin, Germany and I have set this campaign up for my dear friend Ahmed Essa.

Ahmed is a Information Technology student whose life and studies have been disrupted because of the ongoing genocide.

At the age of just 20, he is responsible for his family of five members because his father died in 2018. Ahmed and his family have lost everything: their safe home, their belongings and their dreams. They have been displaced several times and the life in the tent is unbearable, especially in the rainy winter time. Because of the extremely high prices during the war Ahmed wasn’t able to afford winter clothes for his family to protect them from the cold. He and his family suffer greatly under the famine because there is no aid coming into the region. One bag of 25 kg flour f.e. costs 300 $ at the moment. Ahmed couldn’t afford any meat, fresh fruit or vegetable for at least a year now. They are lucky if they can eat one piece of bread a day. And all this suffering besides the daily terror of the war and the intense fear and trauma due to the daily bombardements.

Despite the incredibly terrible situation Ahmed never loses his smile and is an inspiring personality!

Besides taking care of his family he is a proud member of the Al Foursan Team in Khan Younis who teach Dabke, a traditional dance, to the children. He also spends his time playing games with the children and leading fun activities to keep their spirits up. He does everything he can to support the children in his camp.

Targets

We have set the target of this fundraiser as 30.000 €. This amount is necessary to get Ahmed and his family out of the life threatening region and secure the survival of him and his family. It is needed to secure food and necessities like winter clothes, medication, hygiene products etc.

A personal message from Ahmed

I'm Ahmed Essa and I'm 20 years old. Please help me and my family get out of this miserable life. We have lost everything.

It's been a year and 3 months facing this mad war. We go through everything: fears, hunger, hotness and coldness the way no one could ever bear. The life in tents is extremely difficult, especially in winter. We wish to go back to our warm house but that's impossible because it's totally damaged. So I made this link for my family to build a new life for us abroad.

My father is dead since 2018. It's a huge loss for our family and my mom is an old women who practiced the role of the mother and father to the fullest . Me and my siblings didn’t need anyone because of her.

I have 2 brothers an 2 sisters, one brother lives abroad. We are a very connected family and they give me the love and the power to survive this war. I want to pay back this favor and help them find the new life they deserve.
