Help Ahmed Care for his Injured Father and Sick Mother

Hi, my name is Jonathan and I'm making an appeal for funds to help a family in Gaza. The funds raised will be used to provide support for the injured parents of my friend Ahmed.

Ahmed is 20 years old and was formerly a secondary school student. Since the war began last year he is now tasked with the sole responsibility of looking after his parents.

Ahmed's father Jameel has received two bullet wounds. He has received some emergency treatment in hospital (see the photo). One bullet struck him in the leg and one in the back. Jameel is not a young man and this has been a very difficult experience for him. He is now recovering but is incapacited and needs care. Ahmed's mother Mahasin has diabetes and requires medication for this, a further expense for the family.

On top of the medical issues, there are the everyday costs to find food, water and warm clothes in Gaza, simply in order to survive.

I am a retired geologist in my fifties who now spends time on humanitarian activities and trying to support friends in Gaza and elsewhere. I also help other members of Ahmed's family, for example his sister Iman who has two children to support on her own since her husband was recently killed in the attacks on Gaza. I know the intense difficulties Ahmed's family is experiencing and I urge you to help out with a donation. I will be sending the funds raised to Ahmed.
