Hello Everyone,
I’m Ahmed 21 y.o. and Eslam 23 y.o. and we’re cousins. We live with our families in the North amid hardships, genocide, hunger, and lack of basic human life.

This isn’t a fairytale story nor a fiction; it’s the real chapters of every single moment of our lives. Like any young people of this sad city, we keep sacrificing our future and life in wars because of the occupation.

We study Multimedia and Content Creation in the IT’s Faculty. Throughout our studying, we worked so hard as we chose a major that is trending in freelancing because of the lack of jobs here. We began our career in freelancing online and we worked so hard to achieve some of our simple dreams. We improved ourselves strongly in Content Creation, photography and other skills. Then, we decided to save money to establish our first personal project: Oscar Studio. Despite the hardships and siege, we launched our project that we poured our blood, sweat and tears into after several years of hard work and family support. Oscar Studio has such a shiny name; it was a significant success story that we achieved from the womb of brutal reality.
That stage was full of happy memories and joyful moments of hard work and proficiency. We captured pictures of our family and friends. We turned their nice moments into pictures that last and keep their moments present with them at all times.

But, it was vanished. Oscar Studio: what we, ourselves, built was destroyed. The equipment, the photography corner, devices, computers, and other studio supplies were completely destroyed. However, that didn’t break us or kill our spirits since we decided to start over again as soon as this is over.

Did it stop here?
Not yet

Eslam bought a simple car and that was another success in his life. But, he was deprived from that achievement too. His car became a pile of metal and was hugely damaged because of the continuous attack.

Did the madness stop here?
Well, not yet.

It’s true that we grieved what was gone since they were our success and memories that we built throughout years.
The last straw and the great disaster was the day they attacked our house while WE WERE INSIDE.
It was destroyed in the darkness of night while we were ASLEEP. Some survived, others left forever .
We said goodbye to 17 family members.
Eslam lost his mother, sister, two brothers, and his nephew Jawad who was only two years old.
Jawad was a cute and special baby to the family. He’s the happy virus and their loved one. He was the smartest kid,the fast learner, and talkative. He had such a charming smile.

Ahmed lost his older sister, her husband and her two daughters: Rania and Julia, they were the brightest and the prettiest ones in his family.

No one survived in the house but Eslam, Ahmed, and some family members.
To be honest, Eslam didn’t have time to grieve what he lost since he was under the rubbles for three hours until the rescue team picked him up from there. He wished then that he wasn’t brought back to life. He literally has lost everything he had.
The family is gone and nothing can bring them back or even replace them.
Even the house I was living in is now destroyed. That house was holding my memories, my days, my childhood, my family, and everything good I had.
Now after our house destruction, we live in a school for displaced people that is not fit to live.

We just count days meaninglessly with no dream, no ambition, even with no life.

Is the trauma over now?
Again, not yet.

Islam has a severe injury in her his hand along with other injuries in his body. He’s in huge pain in body and soul.
He had many operations in his hand and he’s still paying a lot for its treatment till now.

As for Ahmed, he has a nasal fracture and a broken back. He needs an operation on his nose after it was broken in the attack that he surprisingly survived.

Unfortunately, it isn’t over yet nor the loss. We still can’t start over again. We can’t live here. We can’t do the things we love in such circumstances. We used to play video games and do sports. We had rooms for entertainment after work’s hours; We spent great time there and were away from the harsh reality that we struggle with here.
Also, Ahmed used to post videos of him playing on Twitch. He used to share them with people and make new friends and sometimes he considered it as a side job.

We just reveled little of the untold misery that wrapped us.
We struggle here in the North with lack of food, polluted water, the absence of health organization that could at least provide health care, and huge fear and attacks in the North.

Regardless, we have high spirits and fierce determination to start again with the rest of our family. To start over again far away from death and destruction; to start again in a country safer than here. Hence, each one can achieve their goals. Some want to pursue their studies in schools and universities. Others want to find a new job and run their own project. All of the 13 family members are just waiting for another chance and for another hope to start their life again.

Our will won’t break whatsoever. We’ll build our dreams again. We’ll live despite pain and suffering.

Sadly, this time we’ll be alone without our family support that left us but we still have YOU. I believe that you will stand with us and be our family. We’re writing all of this because of our firm belief in humanity. We believe that you would help us to flee the rest of our family to a place safer than here.

Just letting you know that to evacuate to Egypt, we have to pay 5000$ for each family member.
