Please join me in providing urgently needed financial help to our Amman-based friend and former CNN colleague Ahmad Assad, who needs our assistance to pay for his pending open heart surgery – slated to happen as soon as he's able to pay for it.
Ahmad worked closely with many of us while serving 1994-2021 as CNN's Amman bureau coordinator, fixer, and driver. You could trust him with your life, and many of us did so. Ahmad was the linchpin of CNN Amman, always getting us where we needed to go safely, quickly, and with good humor. He provided help and support to hundreds of CNN'ers, including most CNN reporting teams going in and out of Jordan and Iraq.
Doctors say Ahmad needs two new heart valves ASAP. The cost for the surgery: 15,000 Jordanian dinars – 21,156 USD. Our fundraising goal is $21,856 because GoFundMe charges a 2.9% facilitation/service fee and $0.30 per transaction.
Because GoFundMe is unable to transfer money to a Jordanian bank account, the money will come to me via my U.S. bank account, and I will do a bank transfer to Ahmad to pay for his surgery.
Count your blessings, and ante up now to fix Ahmad's broken heart. Please. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
