Dear friends and family,

It breaks my heart to make this gofundme.

My childhood friend’s father, Sebastian Aguilera, just passed. At this very moment, we are looking for a funeral home to work with the family— that will be an estimated $9,000 to start.

He has been hospitalized since last week— at the Christiana Hospital and was in the ICU for the time being to stop the bleeding of his popped veins in the throat.

It was just two nights ago, where he was able to transfer out of the ICU. And just earlier today, the doctors were gearing towards discharging him.

Then suddenly at around 12am Oct. 24th, he entered cardiac arrest and soon after, his liver failed. By the time the family arrived at the hospital, they had to accept that it was only a matter of time before they had to let him go— everything happened so fast.

At 3:23am he passed while being surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife and two daughters— one of who is flying in from Texas right now.

Every time I met him, he only had jokes to tell— the subtle kind where it goes over your head and he’d get you that way… it feels like just yesterday when he would tease me for my driving while letting me take over the wheels of his car. He will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends, and community members.

Any and all support is appreciated, as it truly becomes an emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical battle.

Thank you for your understanding and love.

This is what his oldest daughter says about him:

“My dad, was always a hard working man. Above all else, he came to this country on a mission. He soon brought my mother and I over for a better life here in the states. He never stopped joking around. He always knew what to say and how to say it in order to ease our pain. He was kind and loving, always helped people the best he could. I learned how to be fearless from him. He taught me how to drive, how to handle conflict, he taught me everything. He taught me how to care and love.”

All proceeds will go to help the Aguilera family. To cover for anything from paying bills, to funeral homes, to accounting for not being able to work at this time.

Thank you.
