Agnieszka Fight for Her Life

My name is Agnieszka Katolik-Radlica.

I am 38 years old and a mother of two young boys — Leoś and Oluś. Every single day I fight for my life for them.

A year ago, my world collapsed when I was diagnosed with HER2-positive, non-luminal breast cancer with lymph node metastases. From that moment, my life became a constant battle — long, exhausting, and painful.

Between February and August 2025, I underwent intensive chemotherapy. There were days when I had no strength left, days when I cried silently so my children wouldn’t see how much I was suffering. After surgery, I was told the words that gave me hope: complete response to treatment. I truly believed the worst was behind me.

Sadly, that hope lasted only three months.

Recent CT and MRI scans brought devastating news. I have a brain metastasis, which has now grown to 3 cm. The disease has progressed to stage IV with distant metastases. This means my previous treatment was not enough. The cancer is aggressive and spreading — and time is critical.

I am terrified, especially because cancer has already taken someone I loved deeply. Nine years ago, my sister died of cancer. I watched how cruel this disease can be. I know what I am facing — and I know I cannot give up.

When I look at my children’s innocent faces and trusting eyes, my heart tightens with fear. They don’t understand illness. They don’t know that their mother fights for her life every single day. That every morning I wake up is a victory, and every night I fear whether I will be able to hold them again tomorrow.

I lived in the United Kingdom for 18 years and worked there for most of my adult life. Sadly, despite this, I am receiving no financial support. The UK authorities have refused to provide any benefits because I chose to undergo treatment in Poland, where I could access care more quickly and be closer to my family. As a result, I have been left completely outside the system, without any income or state assistance, while facing life-threatening illness.

I urgently need surgery and further specialized treatment. I am consulting clinics abroad and searching for any chance to live — but the costs are overwhelming and far beyond what we can afford alone.

I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for time. Time to live. Time to be a mother. Time to watch my boys grow up. Time to hold them, comfort them, and be present in their lives.

Every donation, every share, every message gives me hope that my story does not have to end like my sister’s — and that my children will not have to grow up without their mom.
