Aghina 26 years was admitted on September 14th for premature rupture of membranes and subsequently delivered a healthy baby girl Hazel,on September 15th.

           She developed a headache on 17th for which investigations were done .On 18th she collapsed and became unresponsive and was taken for CT brain scan where a bleed was seen then was rushed to the OT .They had to perform a second surgery on the same day as she had a bleed again on the previously operated vessel.She was in a coma.She has significant brain damage and doctors have told that she wouldn’t have a fully functioning normal life and could be confined to a room(unless some miracle happens). Subsequently they did a tracheostomy.

             She’s undergoing physical therapy and is constantly being reviewed by all the other departments.She is yet to regain motor control, speech and neck control(which can’t be predicted ).She is still on liquid diet.As of today she also has urinary tract infection and is undergoing treatment. 

         She is yet to undergo a cranioplasty and if fluid collection is still present in the brain they will have to put a shunt to drain the fluid which will also increase the risk for infections.

          Aghina was an employee of TCS, very much admired and respected by her team and senior colleagues. Linu Lonappan(her husband) works as an assistant professor in Bangalore.

        They have already accumulated a bill of more than 15.5 lakhs.Any financial help at this point would be a blessing for Aghina. 

         Both Aghina and Linu were looking forward to this new phase of their life, being loving parents to their daughter, Hazel. But all their dreams came to standstill. Hazel,after birth, hardly got to spend 3 days with both the parents.

God willing with all the prayers and help they receive, they might be able to get through this tough phase.
