** Update ** 1/10/25
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for all of their support. The outpouring of messages and love I have received during this time has been beyond anything I have ever expected. These past few days have been beyond stressful and overwhelming so it has been very hard to get back to every single person who has reached out individually, but please know that I see you and I’m incredibly thankful for everything you all have shared and done.
Since the initial evacuation I have been staying with my boyfriend and unable to physically go into the zone myself but had been sent multiple videos of my home and my neighbors homes on fire, as well as seeing all of the live news footage of everything burning down on my street informing people that the houses were gone the night this happened.
Today I was finally able to go to the zone and it is an absolute MIRACLE to be able to say that the obliterated building on fire in which I thought was my house turned out to be my garage. I am beyond stunned that my home (although damaged) was still standing and only the garage was complete rubble like the surrounding ones.
I am still not completely out of the woods with the active fires in the area and I am unsure if my house structure will still be safely inhabitable moving forward from all of the damage and smoke; but right now the important thing is the structure itself is still standing and I am grateful to say that things were nowhere near what I thought and was told they were considering up until now I was genuinely under the impression I had lost everything which has taken an unbelievable mental toll.
I was luckily able to grab some of my items and an emergency bag before I had to evacuate again. With everything still up in the air in my neighborhood I cannot say for certain what will happen in the next few days, but for the time being I have paused the go fund me and am putting what I have received towards replacing my losses, as there is still a significant amount lost. However, anyone who has donated who needs the money more than I, please do not hesitate to reach out to me and I have no issue refunding what was given. This has been an extreme blessing and I know that many people have not been as lucky so please continue to keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers as the days go on and we can all get through this as a community.
Once again I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for everything you have done especially those in my social community for sharing the outpouring of love, it has just been unreal. You guys mean the absolute world to me for stepping up and doing everything you did during this crisis which will never be forgotten. I will continue to keep everyone updated once I know more on the situation as it continues, but for now this is what’s happening. Please continue to stay safe out there during this time. -Gabby
Hello, my name is Gabby from Pasadena. Late last night, I was evacuated from my city to escape the Eaton fire in California.
My home has completely burned down to the ground, leaving me homeless without any of my belongings. Everything that was special to me, including some irreplaceable items from loved ones who have passed on, is all gone. This is an extremely devastating time for me as I am unsure of what I am going to do moving forward.
I can't even begin to describe the pain that I and so many others in the area are enduring. Any donations to help me with temporary housing, clothing, and needs to rebuild everything that was taken away from me are greatly appreciated. As of right now, I am only left with the clothes on my back. Please continue to pray for everyone affected during this devastating disaster, and any donations would help me tremendously during this time.
