My home was recently flooded, and I’ve had to leave with my dogs to stay in hotels while we wait for things to get back to normal. It’s been overwhelming not knowing how long we’ll be displaced, and the costs are adding up quickly. Between hotel bills, caring for my pets, and the uncertainty of when we can return, I’m facing expenses I never expected to handle all at once.

While I do have flood insurance, the deductible is more than I can manage right now, and there are so many other costs that insurance just doesn’t cover. Every day brings new challenges, from making sure my dogs are safe and comfortable to figuring out how to pay for the next night’s stay. I’m doing my best to stay hopeful, but I know I can’t do this alone.
