There was a fire at my apartment Sunday morning because the downstairs neighbors were grilling at 3:30 a.m. right next to the building. This melted everyone’s electrical meters, so the power may be shut off for a week or more. We have no exact time frame for when it will be restored. All my food in the freezer is going to spoil, and we have no family here in this state that can help us. On top of that, our only car broke down, so we had to drop it off at the shop over the weekend. We’ve been renting a car for about a month, which is a big expense.

The funds will go towards helping with car repairs, food, hygiene products, and paying any other bills we may need to cover while we recover from this situation. We’re literally stretched past our means and have depleted all our savings, which wasn’t much to begin with. My husband works 40+ hours a week despite having type 2 diabetes and other health issues. He is a hard worker, a wonderful husband, father, and provider. He doesn’t know I’m asking for help, but I had to try for our family.

I know everyone is stretched past their means lately, and it truly kills me to ask for help like this.
