Help Afnan's Family Rebuild Their Future
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Julius, I am a UK university student raising funds for Afnan Eyad Alzaq (22 years old) and her family in Gaza, Palestine. She is the mother of two beautiful children, a newly born daughter, Rahaf (8 months) and a toddler son, Ahmed (2 years old), with her husband Ibrahim Fouad Alzaq (27 years old) raising the both of them by her side. Rahaf and Ahmed have only been in this world for a short while, and yet so far have been subjected to nothing but the horrors of genocide for a such a significant part of the beginning of their lives.
Afnan has approached me to help her create a fundraiser campaign in order for the family to be able to cover their basic necessities, survive, and eventually, escape the continued destruction of land and life on the Gaza Strip. I have personally verified the family's status as Gazan residents, and will be sending all amounts raised through her brother in law, who lives in Egypt.
These are her words:
"Our life before the war was a beautiful, rosy life. My children and I lived very happily and settled in a house by ourselves. Unfortunately, the destruction came and I lost my beautiful home."
"I am Afnan, displaced from the north to the south in Deir al-Balah, a mother of two. I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart on behalf of my young children, who are enduring unimaginable hardship amid the ongoing conflict in my city, Gaza City. As the violence escalates and the situation worsens, we face an urgent need to seek refuge and safety outside of Gaza. I have initiated this campaign to escape the horrors of war and find a haven where we can rebuild my life and the lives of my children.
Here I stand on the brink of collapse. I have lost my home, the warm home that sheltered me and my young children, protecting us from the cold in winter and the scorching heat in summer. Now, it is gone forever. I have also lost my family's source of income, my husband's livelihood, which he worked tirelessly to build and grow, but sadly, we have lost it.
I am asking for your help, and your contributions will be used to cover the costs of rebuilding a home for my children, restoring our source of livelihood, and giving my children their lives back. I will also be able to buy the toys they love, which they lost in the war, and fulfill their cherished dreams, especially my daughter Rahaf, who has grown up in the war."
The funds raised in this campaign will go toward the immediate costs of basic needs like food, shelter, and medical supplies, which are, due to the harsh economic blockade on Gaza, incredibly inflated and unaffordable at this time. This will also go toward providing the family a route of evacuation from the bombings which seek to destroy all of Palestinian life.
From the bottom of my heart I thank you for your kindness--times are difficult for everyone right now, but I hope that you can find the patience to contribute whatever you can spare, in order to give Afnan and her family hope for a future and the ability for her kids to grow up safely in this world.
