Hi, My name is Karin. In 2022 I taught English in Albania, to Afghan refugees waiting to come to the U.S. One of my students has a sister who is still in Afghanistan. Things there have gotten really bad. It is against the law to even hum a tune or play an instrument. Men who will not join the Taliban are killed on the spot. Women are no longer able to go to a restaurant, park, gym or store. They are not even allowed to be outside without a man accompanying them.

My student's sister was bringing her friend to the hospital, because she was so ill. The Taliban stopped them and put guns to their heads and told them they were never to go out without a man again. She was so terrorized she couldn't even sleep the night after that happened.

The latest awful thing that is happening, is that the Taliban is now forcing any woman over 25 to get married. My student's sister is over 25. They can actually force her to get married to a Taliban member that could torture her since they treat the women as property to be raped, killed and thrown away.

Please help me get her out of Afghanistan to Pakistan, where she can apply to finish her college degree in another country. Pakistan is not safe either, as they train the Taliban there. Her brother will soon be in the U.S. and he can apply to have her come here at that point, but it could take up to 10 years, so we need to get her to another country now! I am personally donating $1500 (but I'm not running it through Go Fund Me, because of the 3% they take).

The funds we are raising will cover Pakastani visas for she and her brother, room and board in Pakistan, while they apply for scholarships in Italy and Germany for college, and money for transportation from Afghanistan to Pakistan and then on to the country that offers her a full scholarship.
