Hello, my name is Chris (call sign ~ Buzz), and I served with “Mike” in Afghanistan for a number of years; he was more than just our linguist, he was a teammate who put each of us before himself on many occasions, and no matter how many times his life was threatened, he faithfully stood by us. I have been fighting non-stop trying to get him and his family evacuated to the United States since 2014. Due to recent events, and the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, there has never been a time where getting him and his family to safety would ever be so critical, and I am happy to say that they we were successfully manifested onto a C-17 flight to Doha, Qatar on 23 August 2021. Currently, the family is preparing to fly into the United States and I would like to reach out to those of you who know me, or have worked with Mike, to spread the word to help him and his family start fresh here in the U.S. in the coming days. My plan is to have some of our colleagues link up with him upon arrival in DC and provide transportation down to Texas, as well as support him financially until we can find him steady employment. Without his care and devotion to our team, his country and the United States of America, I am absolutely certain that we would have lost our lives during our time deployed to the region, I owe him everything, he has asked for nothing, and I would proudly stand beside him and his countrymen again if needed. I am forever grateful to all of you in advance for anything you might be able to contribute to this cause.
Very respectfully,
Chris
