Help Afaf Mohamed After Losing Both Her Parents
Donation protected
With heavy hearts, we share the devastating news that our dear sister Afaf Mohamed has now lost both of her beloved parents within just two weeks.
On Monday, April 14, 2025, Afaf’s father, Shuiab Mohamed, passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He had just returned home from visiting his wife, Fadumo Hirisi, who was in the ICU on life support. Shuiab and Fadumo were married for over 40 years — a bond filled with true love, deep connection, and lifelong devotion. Witnessing her suffering overwhelmed him, and sadly, his heart could no longer bear the pain.
Tragically, on April 30, 2025, Fadumo also passed away after a long and painful health battle. She never got to know that her husband — her life partner — had passed before her.
Afaf, their only child, was incredibly close to both of her parents. She has always been their caregiver, advocate, and source of strength. As a single mother herself, she now finds herself facing unimaginable grief — losing both of her parents just days apart — while also raising her child and trying to remain emotionally and financially stable.
Shuiab Mohamed was a loving father, proud grandfather, and a respected member of the Somali community. His presence, wisdom, and kindness touched many. Fadumo Hirisi was a devoted mother and beloved wife whose quiet strength held her family together.
Now, Afaf is left with funeral costs for both parents, therapy expenses, and the need to take extended time off work to process her grief and care for her child.
Please, let’s come together to support our sister Afaf.
Let’s help lift some of the burdens she’s carrying so she can focus on mourning, healing, and honoring the beautiful legacy her parents left behind.
Every donation, every prayer, every share counts.
May Allah grant Shuiab and Fadumo the highest level of Jannah and surround Afaf with comfort, love, and strength during this painful time.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
